Regularly Scheduled Elections
Spring Primary
Primary held on the third Tuesday in February to nominate non-partisan candidates to be voted for at the Spring Election.

Spring Election
Election held on the first Tuesday in April to elect judicial, educational, and municipal officers, and non-partisan county officers, and to express preferences for the person to be the presidential candidate for each party in presidential election years.

Fall Primary
Primary held in even-numbered years on the second Tuesday in August, to nominate candidates to be voted for at the General Election, and to determine which candidates for state offices other than district attorney may participate in the Wisconsin election campaign fund.

General Election
Election held in even-numbered years on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November to elect United States senators, representatives to congress, presidential electors, state senators, representatives to the assembly, district attorneys, state officers other than the state superintendent and judicial officers, and county officers other than supervisors and county executives.

Registration Information
You can register to vote until the Friday before the election or you may register on election day. You must reside at your address for 28 consecutive days to be eligible to vote using that address. Proof of residence is required for all voter registration applications. If you have been issued and have a current and valid WI driver license or WI DOT-issued identification card (ID), you MUST provide the number. If you have not been issued a WI driver license or a WI DOT-issued ID, you must provide the last 4 digits of your Social Security number.
Voter Registration Information
- Must be a resident of the city of Tomah for at least 28 days
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and age 18 or older
- Proof of residency is required showing:
- Your current name
- Your CURRENT ADDRESS & the Name "TOMAH", WI
- Acceptable Forms of proof of residency include: (Must show current name and address)
- A Current & Valid Wisconsin Drivers License
- A Current & Valid Wisconsin I.D. Card
- Bank Statement
- Any Other Official I.D. Card or License Issued by a Wisconsin Govt. Body
- An Identification Card Issued by an Employer or a University, College or Technical Institute (Must Include Name & Address)
- Real Estate Tax Bill or Receipt (Current)
- Residential Lease (which is effective)
- Utility Bill (Dated not earlier than 90 days before election)
- Current Paycheck
- Check or Other Document Issued by a Unit of Government
- Mortgage Loan Statement or Credit Card Statement
- If you have already registered but have moved or changed your name you must re-register.
- If you live in a township or village you must vote in your township or village.
